Your trades, notes, account settings, and screenshots are stored by the Kontor application locally on your own device by default (in the application data folder and in the local storage of the embedded display window). This data is not automatically transmitted to us or third parties.

Kontor offers two ways to use the AI review: either with your own Anthropic API key (a direct connection from your device to Anthropic), or via our optional AI subscription, where the request runs through our own server, which forwards it to Anthropic. In both cases, the trade data and screenshots included are transmitted to Anthropic to generate the review or chat response. This only happens when you actively use this feature. Processing at Anthropic is subject to their own privacy policy.
To activate and regularly verify your license, Kontor transmits your license key to our own server, hosted at Railway. We also store your provided email address there, along with an identifier derived from device characteristics that cannot be traced back to you personally. This data is used exclusively to ensure a license is only actively used on one device at a time ("single-device protection") – if you want to transfer your license to a new device, we send a confirmation code to your registered email address. The legal basis is contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in preventing license misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not shared with third parties and is used exclusively for this purpose.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed via Stripe Managed Payments. Within Stripe Managed Payments, the Merchant of Record acts as the registered merchant; this function is currently performed by Sold through Link, LLC. The Merchant of Record independently processes personal data in this context (including name, email address, payment data, billing address), automatically calculates the applicable sales tax/VAT based on the buyer's country of residence, issues the invoice, and handles payment-related customer support as well as dispute processing. When you use the AI review or AI chat, you are interacting directly with an AI system (Anthropic's Claude language model). We hereby expressly inform you of this, as required by Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act:
This website itself currently does not use any cookies of its own, nor any analytics or tracking tools. It consists exclusively of static files (HTML, images, video) delivered via our hosting provider Netlify. Should we use analytics tools in the future, this section will be updated accordingly.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to the processing of your personal data. Please contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Data stored locally on your device (trades, notes, screenshots) remains there until you delete it yourself or uninstall the application. Data processed by Stripe is subject to their own retention periods.
